Face Detection using Raspberry Pi’s Webcam

Abstract

Current Security system is using surveillance camera that is the need of the day. which is a very daunting task. There are surveillance cameras in some areas, but they have a very limited function. On the Device, a Wi-Fi module is mounted which is interfaced with a Raspberry Pi.Raspberry Pi receives the signal from Wi- Fi Module it decodes the signals using the code which is in the Raspberry Pi the signal for video transmission. face detection is python program running in Raspberry pi with OpenCV libraries can capture and locally store the image in real time from usb camera when a face pattern in the frame is detected If any intruder enters the area will captures the image of the person and checks with the images that is already stored on the Cloud.The test subjects were make 4 groups and 9 different face detection were shot by each person. Thus the test involved sending a total of 50 times shot commands. 89.72% shots were detection correctly. The accuracy of the recognition can be affected by noise of image, light , and the blurring. These factors need to be studied further in more details by conducting more tests.
